A little February surprise.

Ok, I'll admit it. It wasn't a little surprise. It was BIG. On February 17th, I woke up and took a pregnancy test. Immediately thinking it would be negative, I went for my morning work out on the elliptical. After I was done, I came back to the bathroom to take my shower. As I picked the test up to throw it away, I noticed there was more than one line... Cue the immediate tears and freak out.

Fast forward one (very long) month. We had our first ultrasound at 7 weeks and got to see a healthy heartbeat. Nausea had just started the week I had to go, so I got a prescription for something that would soon become a huge lifesaver for me. Zofran. God bless whoever created this wonderful concoction of pharmaceutical goodness. I won't say that it made me enjoy food, or gave me my appetite back, but by God I was able to at least get some food in my stomach!

Since our first Dr. appointment we have had 2 more great ultrasounds. On our 12 week appointment we had our NT scan done (genetic testing). Baby was not in the right position, so the ultrasound tech was pushing in on my belly to get it to move a little - Baby did not like that too well - it did a complete flip in my belly! It was so amazing to be able to see that right there on the screen. It really made it more real for me that I REALLY am pregnant, and that my baby is growing in there. We were actually measuring 2 days ahead from our last ultrasound.

I have been so lucky to have had such a healthy pregnancy so far. Morning sickness started at 7 weeks, and I am still experiencing it, but it is tapering off a little as each week passes. Today, I am 14 weeks, and being pregnant is becoming more real to me every day. Although I haven't had any problems so far; I don't think my nervousness and worry will go away until I can hold this baby in my arms.
